Dekoor consists of thirty young Utrecht musicians with a shared passion: close harmony. Together they combine their talents to create a unique sound. From subdued pop ballads to swinging jazz and from inspiring gospel to classical excursions; Dekoor does not shy away from anything and goes beyond the beaten path of the choir world. Whether Dekoor sings at a festival, during King’s Day or in a theater, there is one common thread: Dekoor always stands with the same conviction and passion. For this we rehearse every Tuesday under the enthusiastic leadership of conductor Christoph Mac-Carty and director Marjolein Marzacu.
Dekoor does not allow itself to be limited and tries to deliver a suitable performance everywhere. The choir performed its own show in more than 25 Dutch theaters and the group performed twice at the Sziget Festival in Hungary. Dekoor is also always open to collaborations; Dekoor performed with DI-RECT in the AFAS Live, with Damien Rice in Carré, with Wouter Hamel in TivoliVredenburg and with The Rolling Stones on the largest stages of Pinkpop and Rock Werchter. However, Dekoor is always open to smaller performances at parties, dinners, conferences and weddings. Characteristic are the intimate serenades in which the audience takes a seat in the middle of a circle and allows Dekoor to immerse themselves in a surround-sound experience.
