Founded in 1823, the Utrechtsch Studenten Concert is the oldest symphony orchestra of the Netherlands. Over 80 students rehearse every Monday evening under the baton of Bas Pollard. The orchestra also engages in other fun activities such as drinks after rehearsals, dinners with USCulinair and much more!

The orchestra has the tradition of staging an opera every lustrum. During the last lustrum for the orchestra’s 200th anniversary, John Adams’ opera Doctor Atomic was performed seven times in a large factory hall converted into an opera house.

The USConcert also plays major symphonic works from the late romantic and early modern periods in its regular projects. The orchestra has two projects a year and also regularly accompanies other ensembles. Furthermore, the orchestra goes on an international tour every year. The USConcert is an experience to watch and listen to, so come along to one of our concerts, or audition for the student symphony orchestra of Utrecht!

Rehearsal: Monday evenings, 19:00-22:00
